New Martha Wainwright album drops in October
The most underrated member of the preposterously talented Wainwright-McGarrigle musical dynasty will release her first album of new material in four years later this year.
Martha Wainwright will release Come Home to Mama on 15th October. Recorded earlier this year in New York, mostly at Sean Lennon's home studio, the album - produced by Yuka C Honda - features guest turns from Honda's husband, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline as well as Thomas Bartlett on keyboard, Brad Albetta on bass and drummer Jim White.
"This record is a culmination of my life experiences so far," says Wainwright, who became a mother not long after her last album of original material. "Everything changed for me a couple years ago and the record is a representation of that and a return to the reason I started writing songs. I can't wait to hit the road with my family and new band in tow."
