Richard Ayoade’s first feature as a director was the warmly received adaptation of Joe Dunthorne’s debut novel Submarine [1]. For his next outing, he has kept some of the elements from the first film: principally, the actors Yasmin Paige and Noah Taylor.

But to the original cocktail there are some new ingredients. The Double is an updating of the novella by Dostoevsky about a timid man whose life is taken over by a more confident man who happens to be his exact physical double. It stars Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network [2]), Mia Wasikowska (Jane Eyre [3]) and Wallace Shawn, the brainiac playwright who also voices the dinosaur in the Toy Story [4] films. The Double starts shooting on 20 May.
