The saga of legendary guitar noise experimentalists My Bloody Valentine took another twist today as Sony Ireland announced a date - 11 May - for the long-delayed release of remastered versions of their classic albums plus previously unheard material - then promptly deleted the announcement from their site.
The announcement claimed: "They will release their two full-length studio albums, Isn’t Anything and Loveless, plus EP’s 1988-1991, a brand new compilation which draws together their four EP releases, 'Feed Me With Your Kiss', 'You Made Me Realise', 'Glider' and 'Tremolo2' alongside seven additional rare, and previously un-released tracks.
"The original studio albums have been painstakingly remastered by Kevin Shields at Metropolis Studios in London and Loveless comes as a two-disc set featuring a previous remastering from original analogue tapes, completed by Kevin Shields but never released.
"Alongside their EPs, the compilation album features a mixture of rare and unavailable and previously unreleased tracks."
However, given that these have been promised for several years now, we'll believe it when we have the CDs in our hands.
