In June the film Mission to Lars will be given a brief cinema release before appearing on DVD. It documents the saga of journalist Kate Spicer and film-maker William Spicer setting out to have their brother Tom, who suffers from a serious autism-related condition called Fragile X Syndrome, meet his hero, Lars Ulrich, founding member and drummer with heavy rock titans Metallica. The quest takes them "from Bristol to Heathrow to LA to Las Vegas and beyond" and follows the trio's attempts to penetrate Metallica's backstage world. All profits will be going to the charity MENCAP. Further info at www.missiontolars.com [1].
