Album: Turnstile - NEVER ENOUGH
Hardcore, ambient and everything in between

Turnstile’s NEVER ENOUGH is a vibrant, shape-shifting album that proves the Baltimore-based band is fully committed to evolution. Since their formation in 2010, Turnstile have been known for injecting a fresh, genre-blurring energy into hardcore punk. With each release, they’ve pushed further into new territory, and NEVER ENOUGH might be their most fearless leap yet.
The album begins with the title track, a blistering anthem that transforms into a sprawling ambient outro, offering an early sign that Turnstile are not playing by the usual rules. This tension between intensity and introspection runs throughout the album, creating a compelling push and pull that makes each track feel dynamic and purposeful.
“DREAMING” highlights one of the boldest rhythmic departures on the record. The track replaces hardcore’s typical aggression with a breezy, syncopated groove that feels almost danceable. Airy guitar layers and melodic vocals give it a surreal, floating quality, yet it maintains the forward momentum that keeps the album grounded.
Another standout track, “SUNSHOWER”, opens in more traditional territory, with tight, punchy drums and sharp guitar riffs that deliver a raw hardcore energy. As the song progresses, however, it gradually shifts into a more expansive and atmospheric sound, showing the band’s ability to build emotional and sonic contrast within a single track.
Turnstile’s flair for juxtaposition is one of the album’s greatest strengths. Whether it’s explosive choruses colliding with quiet reflection, or distorted riffs easing into dreamy instrumental passages, the band constantly surprises without losing focus.
NEVER ENOUGH is an exciting, unpredictable listen and stands as one of Turnstile’s most charismatic and accomplished releases to date.
