Israeli TV's Prisoners of War on Sky Arts 1
With Homeland nearing the end of its first season on Channel 4, Sky Arts have cunningly snapped up the Israeli series which inspired it. The 10-part Prisoners of War (or Hatufim in Hebrew) will begin on 9 May at 9pm on Sky Arts 1. Written by Gideon Raff for Keshet Broadcasting, it tells the story of how three Israeli Defence Force soldiers were captured in Lebanon. Seventeen years later, two of them, Nimrod and Uri, return alive, and have to cope with post-traumatic stress, families and lovers who have grown apart from them, and suspicions that they may have become spies for their former captors.
