Drapers' Hall
The superb Nash Ensemble has been a firm Festival favourite over the years and this concert includes the world première of a new sextet by featured composer Brett Dean. Grainger reinforces the Australian connection but, like Vaughan Williams, he was an avid collector of English folk songs, as represented in this programme. Grainger is also reunited with his great European friends Delius and Grieg. The Drapers’ Hall is another Festival favourite: its splendid interior was recently featured in the multi-award-winning movie, The King’s Speech.
