Havana Rakatan, on stage, Peacock Theatre, London.
Ballet was never meant to be like this: the London production of Havana Rakatan at the Peacock Theatre last night shattered all definitions and formalities and left the audience uttering squeals and sighs of delight (and sexual ecstasy) in response to the Cuban dancers’ remake of classical poses and lifts and pelvic-thrusting salsa moves.

Respectable Sue Stuar I have read in several places related with the dance, the art and the recreation , those that The Arts Desk on the approaches that it has emitted of the performances of the company Havana Rakatan and especially its singer Geidy Chapman. Our point of view is that the lamentable thing is to compare an only 24 year-old youth with figures so noted and wanted by our town for more than 50 years in Cuba. With all the respect that you the young Geidy deserves Chapman it is admiring of the whole work of our big singers and does it respect its work, but for that its insistence in saying that he/she doesn't have the charisma neither the scenic projection of those big and traditional figures?, these approaches that you/they leave the young Cuban singer Geidy Chapman in disadvantage are and that coming from a person with great international prestige as you doesn't help her, do they harm it, because the youths although continuators of the good traditions should be authentic, they don't make anything with to imitate neither to want to look like each other, should they drink of the wisdom of the big ones and to work its own road. For that reason with all respect, I request him with the whole heart that he/she stops to repeat so many times and in so many places the same sentence Sadly she lacks their charisma physically and vocally......" because it doesn't contribute anything to their excellent comment and if it harms somebody that is offering the best thing with a lot of effort of yes and that we know it is not perfect, he lacks it a lot, but it doesn't aspire to compete with the big Cuban singers that you compare them in their I articulate and that for honor to the memory of some deceaseds don't mention already. Ahead of time I ask him him to know how to understand our position and I expect their biggest understanding. The singer's representative Geidy Chapman
